[Brief Note] Differences Between a Lathe and a Milling Machine
A simple explanation of the difference between a lathe and a milling machine.
A lathe is fundamentally a machine that cuts by applying a tool (bit) to a rotating round object (cylindrical workpiece). It may be easier to understand if you think of the process of making a kokeshi doll. Thread cutting is also done on a lathe. On the other hand, a milling machine is used to attach flat objects (such as plates) to a table and to shave or groove the surface with a rotating cutter. Additionally, tasks such as rounding corners or shaping curves are also performed on a milling machine. For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.
